AtoZ Reflection

The 7-year itch.

This year, I really felt like I didn’t actually do this challenge. Over the last 7 years, I have kind of perfected my AtoZ methods in order to participate better than when I started. I like to get my posts done and as many scheduled before the start of the challenge as possible. Now that I work as a teacher, it is really hard to find the energy at the end of the day to work on the challenge and interact with people. So if I schedule the posts ahead of time, I have more time to interact with people. It’s great.

This year, not so much.

I scheduled all my posts ahead of time, they were short and to the point so that was easy to do. And then for the first few days, I visited my normal 10 new blogs. I got up to blog number 80 from the master list (so I didn’t keep it up for very long). I followed one new blog during those few days.

But all in all, I’m finding that my AtoZ experience is just not what it used to be. I used to visit so many blogs and have so many new people come to mine and follow my blog. The experience of it all was worth the effort. Yet, each year, and especially over the last 3 years of having my teaching job where I’m working in the mornings and no longer have that time free to blog, I’m finding it really hard to be excited about the challenge and to participate. I hate to say it, but this might actually be my last time participating.

  1. Well I enjoyed keeping up with your posts to this year’s theme. It was fun and at times enlightening to find out new Disney characters I’ve never ‘met’ before. šŸ™‚

  2. I’m not going to write up a formal reflection (the technology gives me a headache tbh) though I have been giving it some thought. One of my major realisations is that short, concise posts – such as your animated characters – can be more effective and garner more interest than longer efforts that require a lot of research. Plus, there is a place for fun. These days we need more fun. Lots more fun. Your Challenge was like a breathe of fresh air…….

    • Haha I am usually the same. I start to think of themes in January so I have time to prep and organize. But each consecutive year it gets harder and harder to motivate myself lol

  3. You pull me in then are leaving šŸ˜±!!! Haha. Just kidding. Iā€™m thankful to have joined, but 7 years is a long time. You would think they would have added some letters to the alphabet by now.

  4. Hey lovely, you know the time factor was why I didn’t participate this year – and this year, for the first time, I couldn’t even keep up with all the daily posts of the awesome friends I’ve found in AtoZ past. I skimmed, but didn’t have time to post replies. Totally understand. Next year… well I’ll wait and see…
