  1. I never write poetry usually but this suddenly poured out of my head without me asking:

In my heart is a soft secret
Held close like an old photograph,
    Worn and torn
Well loved and aged beige with time.
In my heart is a soft secret
One that is not always soft,
    But rough and painful
Like a sandstorm on naked skin.
In my heart is a soft secret
Hidden in a box under a bed in a room
    With stucco tan walls
Waiting to be found on a rainy day.
In my heart is a soft secret.
