You Share: Tell me what you like/dislike about the entertainment industry. Any celebrity encounters? Have you ever been on TV? What was your first CD?
Okies so my first CD was a Jennifer Lopez one. For Christmas, since 98% of my cousins are at least 10 years older than me and about 50% have children my age, the whole family gift exchange thing wasn’t really big. So on my dad’s side we just did it with one set of cousins. They were only a boy and a girl, we were only a boy and a girl, it was perfect. One year I got the JLO (before she was JLO) CD and a cassette of someone else. It was right in the transitional phase. I googled and it was her “On the 6” album.
I have had a few celebrity encounters!
When I was a month away from being 19, I went to Toronto for a charity conference with my friends. I wasn’t allowed to go to a few things because I was underage but that was ok because I was able to sit in the hotel in silence and work on some university papers since it was my first year (they later would be stolen from the car on our last day and I’d have to do them again and fail 2 classes but that’s a whole different story). It was a Backstreet Boy affiliated thing. One of the members, Howie, supports Lupus research because his sister has it. So it was a for that. I was smuggled into the event on the last night under STRICT orders that I could come only if I didn’t drink. We met Howie’s sister, and then Nick’s little sister Ashley came and I watched as my friend poured (I think) vodka into her mouth, and then she drank it from the bottle and spit it into people’s mouths, and she got WASTED.
Then, when I went to Scotland in 2012, I was in Heathrow coming home and was told by the TSA person “pick a line” so I looked and both were basically empty but the line to one side had this very attractive tattooed guy standing with an ok looking black guy so I stood right behind them. Then this guy behind me gets the tattooed guy’s attention and was like “hey! wow…oh my gosh….can I just get a picture?” and the tattooed guy was like “nah man, come on, we are just trying to catch our flight” and I thought it was a little weird. So the two attractive guys leave and then guy behind me was all “man oh MAN! Can you believe it?!” and I kind of gave him the side eye (also I was super tired and like why is he so animated so early in the morning? Dude I just left a week of running around the highlands, chill). And he’s all “do you know who that was?” And I shook my head no…. and he’s like “WHAT? It was Ludacris! (he spots my Canadian passport) oh but I guess if it’s not Justin Bieber you wouldn’t know” and now that was just taking it TOO FAR! So I shared my disgust at the insinuation and thankfully it was my turn to go through security because ew gross, Bieber… So I was like 2 feet from Ludacris?
And then this one time
at band camp when I was living in Korea the second time (2015/16), I wrote a post about this BBC show that I LOVED called Bluestone 42, and it ended on a semi-cliffhanger and I was upset! And someone from my blog retweeted the post but tagged one of the stars and he actually came to my blog and commented on it! Like how amazing!
I was on TV once – a news reporter went to a summer bible camp I was attending and interviewed the people there. I was just in the background and on TV for all of like 1.5 seconds but I was there! And I wore my favourite yellow shirt.
And that’s all I have to say about that 😉
