Eloise knew she had made a horrible choice. She should have never come in here. Why did she let herself? “Just go in and look around” she had told herself. Yeah…like “just looking around ever happened. She needed to be supervised at all times.
Looking into her shopping cart, she knew she needed to make a choice. There was no way she was going to be buying so many balls of yarn. She had no projects that needed to be started. Why did she come into the craft store alone?! She wasn’t strong enough for this.
Ok. Let’s be rational about this. She had to form a plan. Just because the yarn is on sale, 2 for $3 instead of $5 each, does not mean I have to get some.
She looked at the pile. She had a similar colour of purple at home so that could go back onto the shelf. There was no way she was ever going to use that horrible colour of mustard yellow. Why did she even pick it up?! Back it went. Over and over she put back a ball here, two over there.
Now that just left two different colours. But eight balls in total. One was this beautiful shade of teal, and the other a soft coral that matched it perfectly. They were so pretty. She couldn’t part with them.
Then Eloise remembered that it was almost winter, and of course she needed to crochet herself a blanket to snuggle under during those cold nights that were fast approaching.
She sighed, it wasn’t a really good reason, but at least she didn’t get everything that she had initially pulled off the shelf. Eloise was happy with her restraint, and she knew that she was going to make a beautiful blanket with the two colours she had left in her cart. You can never have too many blankets.
Crafting really is addictive!

So true! I have a problem with paper. I think I’m an addict so I really need to stay away from that aisle. (You can see what I mean in the video I posted today about my new craft studio). The teal and coral blanket sounds beautiful and yarn IS expensive so if it is on sale…I’m probably not the best one to go shopping with as far as holding you back. LOL

Thankfully I don’t go near/in craft stores a whole lot. I did make blankets for the kids I nanny for Christmas so I went in a craft store just to kill some time once and there was a great deal on yarn. I hadn’t been planning on buying but since it was on sale I bought enough for the last two blankets haha

I can relate to this! I have a drawer full of yarn I have no project for, but I keep buying some every time I set foot in a craft store…

I know! Sadly (or thankfully for my wallet), there are not many good craft stores where I live… I miss Michael’s!
