Cos pringles are delicious!
Straight up, I’m a little bit more like this:
But lately, I’ve been starting to switch to this:
because dang it girl, know your worth and add TAX!
But then this happened:

sorry to the people who got those text messages…
And for the first few times out, it felt like this:
Even though it wasn’t straight running, it was more like:

like a 90/10 walking/running split
And now it’s gotten all the way up to this:
hehe
So the FBI agent in my laptop camera has noticed that I have been running lately, and Pinterest has responded in kind with all these running shirts. It’s been great fun. But really, let’s have a chat about it.
I go through these exercise phases before- Pilates was the last one I wrote about on this blog. It lasted for about six months before I ended it. But mostly because I was leaving Korea where a whole month of classes was $35 (that’s 12 classes! For THIRTY-FIVE DOLLARS!) Of course that’s because I only had to pay 50% since I worked in the building. But still, $70 for a whole month of classes is insane! In Canada, it’s like $20-30 per class. PER. CLASS. Um, no thank you.
That’s not the point – right now I’m in a running phase. I started right after Thanksgiving, so it’s been 2 weeks now. I know – two whole weeks! I’m on a roll! When I started, the first few times out I was going just under one kilometre. Now I’m up to 2! It takes about 20 minutes to do the full 2 kilometres, it’s mostly flat and a nice run. Like one of those shirts say, I do walk a lot of it, but I’m able to go for longer stretches of running every time I go out. The walking is getting less, and when I do walk, that break is starting to become smaller and smaller between running times. I go one night, take two off, and then go again. Except for this week that would have put a run on Friday and I can’t run Friday night so I went yesterday which was only one day of rest but I still was able to run more than on Saturday.
I’m super proud of my self! And, as much as I complain about running sucking the most suck of anything that has ever sucked, I am actually enjoying myself. Which is a nice surprise.
What have you done that you’re proud of lately? I’ve love to hear about it!
I love those shirts! I’m on the 2nd week of low carb, so I’m smack in the middle of induction. Better to start now, than to wait for New Years!

Oh I never make any sort of resolutions for New Years haha! I find it kind of pointless. And you are so much stronger than I am – no way am I going low carb. I love carbs. They are my best friends lol

The worst part is the pizza and fresh bread. I love both of those things!

I’ve been doing so much I’m proud of which is why my blog has suffered lately (boo!). I’ve had a healthy stock of furniture in the garage I’ve wanted to flip and I’ve all but completed them. I just have to seal 2 nightstands and add hardware and figure out what I’m doing with a coffee table I have. I also just got my motorcycle license and a motorcycle so my new hobby has been joyriding before it gets too cold. 🙂

I’m not sure why my body has decided that now it needs to run but I’m glad that I’m enjoying it too! So much so that I’m shocked I keep going when I have to run after work! Like get home at 9pm and then go out. Before I’ve had running “urges” but it would be like a “oh I bought new workout pants maybe I’ll go running in a day or two” and poof two years later and I still hadn’t gone for that run lol we’ll see how it goes!! I have a goal to reach by Christmas so hopefully I reach it!!

Yaaaay! Go you.
Running can be so fun until it gets really cold!
I’ve just been cycling to work…My motivation is trying to pay back the money I spent on a bike. So each time I don’t use public transport, I count those dollars as being paid off. I’ve been doing that for a year, and it’s half paid for. Woot!

Aww, I’m so glad to hear that! Running is the best sport and I’m always happy to see new people trying it! It’s hard at first, but the way you feel afterwards is so worth it I find… I stuck with running purely for the runner’s high (and the fact that I now run long enough distance to eat candies WHILE I run!)… Good luck with your progress!

PS. I really like the shirts! I have one on my Etsy wishlist that says ‘Everything hurts and I’m dying’ and I plan to buy it for my next long-ish race! 😛

Hehe eating candy while running?!? You’ve got some skills!
I’m loving the feeling of accomplishment in myself – is that the runners high? When I started, I could barely run for 30 seconds at a time before switching to walking and when I went on Monday it was a solid block and a half!! Almost a whole Taylor Swift song! Which kind of motivated me cos I told myself once it was over I could stop running. I didn’t make it the whole song but that’s ok haha

The feeling of accomplishment is the runner’s high, and the best ‘high’ out there in my opinion! 😉
Well, yes… Mini Mars bars are my current favourite. Because I run for long(ish) distance up and down mountains, I need to replenish calories quickly so candies help!

Ooo then yes! I totally love the runners high too!! Just not last night, I had started on my way back and a muscle or tendon seized up and I had to limp all the way home haha!
I’m looking for some winter gear, do you have any Canadian companies you’d recommend to look into? Or specific items you love? I just run in tights and a sweater now but it’s starting to get too cold for that.
And dang! That’s talent!!

Aww, bless you! I’d recommend stretching lightly before and after each run. Even if it’s only 2 minutes, it makes a huge difference. I hope you’re not limping anymore! 🙂
I don’t remember what brands I used to wear back home but I know I used to dress much more than I do here, haha! I’m not sure if you have Sports Experts or Atmosphere shops in Ontario? That’s where I bought the bulk of my stuff. I’d recommend to get a good sweat-wicking base layer and some long tights as well as some thin merino socks. For the rest, I’d either wear a sweater or a waterproof jacket depending on the conditions. A buff (I think Canadians call it neck gaiter) is also useful. I wear mine over my mouth until I’m warmed up to avoid asthma attacks. 🙂 Let me know if you have other questions! I’m not an expert but always happy to help!

I do a quick stretch before I head out – and this is the first time this has happened haha I’m still limping a little. It’s not as bad as it was last night that’s for sure! Just tight and tensed up still.
Thanks for the suggestions! I will definitely look into them 🙂
