Thomas Harrison, aka Thomas the Tank, played for the Rangers for three seasons from 2001-2004.
He moved on to a few other OHL teams, and bounced around leagues for the following six seasons, before ending his hockey career in 2010 playing in the CHL for the Tulsa Oilers.
As his nickname suggests, Thomas was a solid defenceman and he took/gave a lot of hits over his years with the Rangers. He was super close with another player, Adam Keefe (who didn’t make it into this challenge, sorry Adam) and during one of our Timbit Days, my friend was sitting on a table after all the autographs were signed and the kids had all gone home. This was the time of hip-hugger jeans and whale-tails. So my friend, sitting on the edge of the table, had Thomas and Adam go up behind her and feel like they needed to try to put a pen into the back of her jeans/whale-tale. The ensuing full-on rage-filled slur of words that came out of her mouth can only be described as epic – in every sense of the word.
Gosh – that doesn’t sound nice. I think you might enjoy this fabulous poem by Jane Yolen on my A-Z. I’m doing Z to A… https://poetryroundabout.com/2018/04/01/y-is-for-jane-yolen-childrens-poet-and-author-atozchallenge-ztoa/ Liz
