Today, my prompt is to write about “something that you miss”.
If I want to get all nostalgic about this, I miss a lot of things.
I miss my Grandma, I miss being younger and having fewer responsibilities, I miss being in school and hating it but also loving learning about all the different things I was learning, I miss telling people what I’m majoring in and having them look at me and be like “so when people say to never discuss religion and politics you thought it would be a good idea to do both?”
I miss being on my high school debate team. I miss the social activism club I was in and ran in high school. I miss volunteering with the children’s program at my old church and helping to run the summer camp every summer. I miss certain friendships and connections that I made from these.
Even though some friendships have ended over the years, I miss the good times that we had. I miss relatives and friends who have passed away – some decades before they should have.
Sometimes it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the “I miss”…
