Leader of the Pack

Fall in, or fall out.

As I am born on April 15th (hint hint wink wink, presents are always accepted), I am an Aries.

According to astrology.com, Aries is the first sign and thus, Aries expect to be first. Natural born leaders, kick-starters, initiators, etc. Other phrases used to describe Aries include:

  • bundle of energy and dynamism
  • charm and charisma
  • impulsive
  • blunt and to the point
  • drive to compete and win
  • can summon up the inner strength to take on anyone
  • do not lack energy or vitality
  • independent and well aware of their interests in a situation
  • competitive nature…zeal and vigour
  • most likely to have bolted to the next project before the first is done
  • associated with the ram, the god of war, and the element of fire
  • action, enthusiasm and a burning desire to play the game
  • may appear arrogant
  • their love is unquestioned
  • can be playful and romantic with their mate (most compatible signs are Gemini, Leo, Sagittarius, and Aquarius. Least compatible Cancer and Capricorn)
  • great strength is initiative, courage and determination, fearless

So those are a lot of great buzzwords. I definitely agree with some of them for my own personality though. I think for sure I am the bundle of energy type of Aries. Anyone who knows me in person will tell you that! I’m very impulsive and charismatic. I do have a competitive nature but mostly that’s just confined to games of Monolopy. I am very independent. I do sometimes appear to be arrogant, but mostly that’s around how adorable I look (ps: day two of headbands! Cream coloured bow today. So freaking cute). And it’s very true – in romantic relationships, my love can’t really be questioned. I’m definitely of an “all in” type of person, and I adore being romantic and playful.

Things I don’t really agree with: While I do fall into the role of leader well, I don’t seek it out. I’m not an initiator. If someone else can get things started, that’s pretty awesome. Remember over the summer and I wouldn’t kiss Mr. Potential first? I literally can’t take that first step. I basically never realize if someone is flirting with me. I don’t even have that level of being arrogant to assume that someone is into me. It’s not there. I honestly don’t have the inner strength to take people on. I will shy away from fights, or internalize feelings that I need to. If it’s not going to help the situation by talking it out, I won’t do it. I have to finish projects. I can’t just leave them half started and move on.

I definitely, DEFINITELY agree that I’m a fire sign. I do a great many things with a great deal of passion and zeal. I’m sure I’ve mentioned this once or twice, but when I was a youth, maybe like 8 or 10, I asked my grandma (a very wise Scottish lady who in her youth had red hair just like mine) why I had red hair and not brown like my parents and brother. She sat me down and said it was because I had too much fire inside of me and that it was trying to get out and the only way it could was to burn out through my hair. How utterly fantastic is that?!!?! I loved that answer. If I ever have children and they have red hair and ask me why they have red hair, this is going to be my answer. But my grandma and I are both Aries. Her birthday is April 14th. 70 years and one day before mine. I loved sharing that with her.

What’s your zodiac sign? Do you agree with what it says about you?

  1. I’m also an Aries (and a redhead), and I agree with exactly what you stated above. I function well in a leadership-type position, but I don’t seek them out or prefer them. I’m not an uber competitive person though, but I think that has more to do with my upbringing. My dad and
older brother always won whenever we played games, so I got used to losing.
