30 Day Writing Challenge

I need a little something to get back into the swing of writing.

Listen up peeps – I feel like I’m kind of floundering here. I used to be able to just sit and type out a post and not really think about it. Like sure I thought about what I was writing but it came really easy for me. Maybe this is part of hitting the 2.5-year mark. I can’t even start to imagine my life without this little piece of heaven but also it’s been a long time since I started it. And I’ve never kept up with a writing project for so long before. Maybe that magnitude is what is hitting me? I’m not sure. All I know is that this is my outlet and I don’t want to lose that but I am feeling massively disconnected at the moment.

I also feel like since I write about my life, and my life is literally so boring right now, I have nothing to write about. I’m picking up extra hours at work which leaves little time to read all your lovely posts every morning let alone have time for thinking up and writing a post. And my social life is totally dead right now. The only thing I have to share is that my little munchkin, 4th, randomly showed up Friday night and followed me to the laundry room on her way back home with her dad. She helped me pull all my clothes from the dryer and because they were clean and warm, she stood there for 5 minutes smelling one of my shirts. She just put it on her face smelling it. Then told me on Saturday that my hand smelled like candle wax (it was really the smell of the inside of the rubber gloves that I use to wash dishes. They have a fuzzy lining so they don’t smell like latex).

SO! In an attempt to channel back into my writing person, I’ve decided to do a 30 Day Writing Challenge, which I found on Pinterest (what a shock!). I’m already dreading a few days…like 1 and 5 but I’m going to do it and get through it! I like having the prompts to work off of. I remember February 2016 when I was in South Korea, I challenged myself to write a response to the Daily Post Prompt every day and it worked really well. I liked having that structure of a schedule. Here is an outline of the days if you want to see what’s coming, or if you want to join me in my challenge (tag any post not my home page if you are going to so I can hop over and read your post) or if you just want to pick and choose a prompt to help you in your own writing.

  2. This is such a great idea. I might have to join in. I wrote everyday during the month of November because there was no way I was going to do NaNoWriMo for 2017. It worked out really well, but like you, I don’t have much of a social life (but in general), so I felt like I was rambling and just looking for things to say half the time. Should have gone to Pinterest!
