2017 Advent Calendar Day 21

It’s time to crack open your advent calendars at home, and it’s time for the 2nd annual No Love For Fatties Advent Calendar.

Last year, I focused on music, and this year I’m going to focus on movies. I know – totally generic but whatever. I love Christmas movies!! And more so, the classics, the originals, the super obscure ones that I grew up watching on old VHS that we taped from the tv (yeah we totally did – don’t pretend you didn’t either!). Each day, there will be a post featuring a new movie that I enjoy watching. Maybe next year I’ll do something a little more original

Please note: there will be LOTS of gifs used so if you find them annoying, you have been warned.

Today’s movie is: The Nutcracker Prince

I love this story just for the music! It’s gorgeous! And The Dance Of the Sugarplum Fairies is one of my all-time favourite classical pieces. Probably my most favourite by Tchaikovsky. Apparently, he hated it. Like with a burning passion! I’m not sure why it’s so beautiful! Plus, it’s transformation in the Disney movie Fantasia is pure heaven! PS: I totally totally TOTALLY love Fantasia.

I’ve never seen the ballet, but I would LOVE to! Maybe in my future, I will make a point of seeing it some time? Let’s hope so!

PS: for all those liking a post yesterday entitled Advent Start – thank you for alerting me to it being posted and not just updated! It was a draft I have set up so I can have the same start to all my advent posts, which I was trying to add to so I don’t have to pack the notebook where I arrange all my posts for advent. A simple addition of a few days at the end, and I hit “publish” instead of “save”. Silly me! I hope it doesn’t ruin the experience for you over the next 3 days.
