2017 Advent Calendar Day 20

It’s time to crack open your advent calendars at home, and it’s time for the 2nd annual No Love For Fatties Advent Calendar.

Last year, I focused on music, and this year I’m going to focus on movies. I know – totally generic but whatever. I love Christmas movies!! And more so, the classics, the originals, the super obscure ones that I grew up watching on old VHS that we taped from the tv (yeah we totally did – don’t pretend you didn’t either!). Each day, there will be a post featuring a new movie that I enjoy watching. Maybe next year I’ll do something a little more original

Please note: there will be LOTS of gifs used so if you find them annoying, you have been warned.

Today’s movie is: Fred Claus.

I know what you are thinking: Paul Giamatti and Vince Vaughn? Seriously? And in a Christmas movie?!

Well, I say YES!!!

In all honesty, this movie isn’t like fabulous. But I like to watch it – just like the real-life version of the Grinch.

Basically what happens is that Santa’s big brother, Fred, is being a jerk. And he goes to Santa for money and legal problems. Right before Christmas!! Like Santa doesn’t have enough to worry about already…jeeeze Fred! Pull yourself together man! You are OLDER than Santa.

There’s a “famous sibling support group” and an elf romance. And Kevin Spacey trying to shut down the North Pole because he was on the naughty list and now has a personal vendetta against the big man in red.

Like I said, not the best most amazing thing ever, but I like it.

Happy viewing peeps!

Only 4 more days left! 5 more sleeps till Christmas!!

  1. LOL… We love old Christmas movies. Santa Claus the Movie… Old shows, Jack Frost, Santa’s coming to town, The night before Christmas (Catchy title there! hehe) etc… I seem to be drilling my children with nothing but Christmas specials their entire childhood once Thanksgiving is over, lol.
