2017 Advent Calendar Day 10

It’s time to crack open your advent calendars at home, and it’s time for the 2nd annual No Love For Fatties Advent Calendar.

Last year, I focused on music, and this year I’m going to focus on movies. I know – totally generic but whatever. I love Christmas movies!! And more so, the classics, the originals, the super obscure ones that I grew up watching on old VHS that we taped from the tv (yeah we totally did – don’t pretend you didn’t either!). Each day, there will be a post featuring a new movie that I enjoy watching. Maybe next year I’ll do something a little more original

Please note: there will be LOTS of gifs used so if you find them annoying, you have been warned.

Today’s movie is: The Grinch!

Now, Sandra, I’m putting this first just for you. And I’m not even going to tag you in this because I’m about 97% sure you’re going to read this. And I am fully prepared for any backlash I get for it:

Hands down, the cartoon Grinch is the best Grinch. I will physically fight anyone who says otherwise. But I’m a marshmallow so please don’t make me have to actually fight you. I will probably most definitely cry.

Seriously, all Dr. Seuss books should be made into cartoons. They are fabulous!! Someday, I dream of having my own children’s books that are maybe like half as popular as Dr. Seuss. I’ve started a Dr. Seuss collection of my own. I love them. I want them all.

Of course, there is the other Grinch movie. I know some people don’t like this one, but I enjoy it! Probably because it’s the Grinch and Dr. Seuss and I can’t see past either of those two points to see any of the flaws that other people find with it. It’s on Netflix all year long so there is no reason why you can’t watch it.

  1. The classic Grinch is always the best! Don’t get me wrong the live action wasn’t horrible because the characters were more fleshed out. But it loses EVERYTHING that is Dr. Seuss about it by doing that.
