Did you get to writing?
So here is where all the chips come out! Yesterday I posted two paint chip cards which had some really neat names for the paint colours. Your challenge was to write a poem using those words – it could have been free verse or more structured, you could have written a story even if that tickles your fancy. Mine are mostly all free verse. Some make no sense what so ever. I wrote most of the upcoming poems while in the library waiting for kidlets to do their homework.
I hope you enjoy them! I’m not sure how good they are but I promised I would post them so I am posting them! I don’t let my Giggling Followers down – oh no! If you want to join in, link to this post, or the post from yesterday, or just post in the comments. As always, you can email me at noloveforfatties@gmail.com (if you’re shy) – I love getting emails from you guys! Or just head over to my contact page at the top there and send it that way if you want to.
Yesterday’s colours were:
Magnificent red, show stopper, candy heart, robust pink AND classic coral, sweet as a peach, peach Artemesia.
And here are my poems:
Her lips painted a magnificent red,
Her dress an undeniable show stopper,
As they kissed, she tasted like a sweet candy heart from his childhood.
His eyes say only the sweetest shade of robust pink transposed onto everything around him.
The hatred I felt burned like a magnificent red first inside my soul. You flaunted your triumph like a show – stopper of all happy thoughts residing within me. You walk passed me, your aroma reminding me of a cheap candy heart, of grade school and cards made of tacky robust pink paper.
Coloured as if class coral,
An aroma as sweet as a peach.
I should know by now it’s all an
affront for your peach Artemisia.

I got this idea off of Pinterest (obviously) and the picture they show has the poem written on the actual paint card. I tried this – it was ugly. But this is a place where we celebrate my failures so I am still going to share with you. Just. This. Once. I also changed a few poems when I typed them out here. Like the red card today – it used to be written from the perspective of a man, but then it was like “maybe people think I’m talking about kissing a girl…that would be awkward” so I changed some pronouns haha
Please note that all these poems were written over the course of two days, and in no way reflect what is currently going on in my life.
I love these, fantastic idea!
