Happy Birthday NLFF

Related imageCan you believe it?! It’s been two years since I started this blog. Of course, my WordPress anniversary isn’t until October, I still celebrate the start of No Love For Fatties in August.

And just let me tell you something – it’s been anΒ auh-mazing two years. I have grown both as a writer and as a person and I give all the credit to this blog and to you lovely people who read it and comment and help to keep me sane.

Last year I took the whole week before my anniversary and offered advice and reflections on my first year in blogging. This year, I’ve been completelyΒ distracted in my off-line life (are bloggers even allowed to have an off-line life?!) and actually almost forgot that it was the anniversary today! I know, I’m such a horrible blog mother. If you wanted to take a look back on my one year post, you can read it here. I made a list of things that I had learned about myself, and actually, they all still hold true.

I’m so proud of my accomplishments this year. I’ve kept up writing for the whole year, started my Giggling Followers section (which I don’t use very much but it’s still nice to have when I want to post personal pictures or just lay out a personal rant), started and ended a few different segments, started posting videos, and even had my first giveaway. But most of all, I’ve met some super fantastic people. It’s been a great year!

I have to say a great big thank you to all of you who follow and read this blog. Without you, I would have stopped writing a long time ago. It was the interaction with others and the support from a writing community that has kept me going for so long (and with no plans to stop anytime soon). We’ve gone through good times and bad, and I’m really just so thankful to have you guys in my life.

So here’s to you guys! And to another amazing year!

  1. CONGRATULATIONS AND HAPPY BLOG BIRTHDAY!!!! It always seems that I end up super busy in my (probably not allowed) non-blog life right around my blog anniversary, and my celebration post is always a week or two late haha! Here’s to five more years!!

  2. Congrats! I’m not even at one year, but that is my first real goal – 52 posts…I went back and read your 1 year anniversary post. I am finding the truth in all of those statements. Funny, I was just contemplating a blog (writing it in my head this morning) knowing that I would not want to post it and thinking about writing it anyway, just to honor the inspiration and get it off my chest. So, I had that back-and-forth with myself, “should I bother writing it if I know I won’t post it? Or, should I just write to see what comes out?” I chose the latter.

    • Well I’m glad you’re here and good luck on reaching your first year! It’s always tough to reach a goal we set for ourselves but so so sweet when we do. And I’m glad you wrote it! I always feel better after writing someone out. Even if I just write it and then save it and trash it later. Sometimes I just need to get it out.

Thanks for dropping in and contributing to the conversation!
