Dr. Strange

Be warned, this post contains spoilers of the hilarious variety. If you haven’t seen this movie yet, it’s on Netflix – stop reading and watch it.

Ok – so I’ve been going through a Marvel phase lately. I’ve watched most of the Marvel movies now that pertain to the Avenger’s story line – except Ant Man, I hate that movie. Then I entered that contest to have lunch with RDJ, I’m planning my wedding with Chris Evans…so I’m in pretty deep ya’ll.

This weekend, I decided that I needed to watch a movie, and asked my brother for some advice. It was between Dr Strange and Deadpool. Both on Netflix, but I hadn’t seen either of them.

Since my brother is so much more knowledgeable about all things nerd than I am, I had a nice little texting conversation with him while I was watching the movie. I’m sure it was annoying for him – but what are sisters for if not to annoy their brothers with ridiculous questions and statements? Especially when I had just moved the day before and had probably about 4-5 hours of sleep. The optimal level of sleep for the insanity to start showing.

Please take this as an official review of the movie. Enjoy:

I could practically hear his groan of disappointment all the way from Ottawa over the “no I’m pretty sure it’s Rob” comment.

It was at this point, after the movie had ended, that I informed him I would be putting our conversation up here and he stopped replying. What a party pooper.

So yup – my first experience with Dr Strange. I’m not exactly sure how he fits into the whole Avenger’s thing but whatever. All I know is that I love the Avenger’s movies and can’t wait for the next one. Even if I don’t actually understand things and have to bug my brother/friends with questions while watching them.

  1. You didn’t like Ant Man?! OMG I loved that movie. I adore Paul Rudd, so that is a huge part of why I loved it. Also, the humor. My boyfriend and I did not like Dr. Strange. He was not a likable character, a total jerk, in fact. So, I really lost interest in the storyline. I really didn’t care what happened to him. Also, I detest Benedict Cumberbatch’s American accent. It’s.just.not.right.

  2. I also loved AntMan. (Just watched it for about the 10th time this weekend, in fact.) I’ve never heard anyone say they didn’t like it until now! I also loved Dr. Strange. Sure, his character was an asshat in the beginning, but I think he changed… and in the end, cared about more than just himself. I wasn’t left confused… but I do have my own personal nerd-reference-dude living with me so… there’s that.

Plus the Thor bonus was, well, a great bonus. Yum.

    • Haha well I am always confused about those movies. I watch them for the surface value only and never get into the deeper meanings of things. I am going to rewatch ant man soon. Definitely before the weekend is over 🙂 then I will give a other opinion.
