Happy Potter-versary

It’s the 20th anniversary of the first Harry Potter book.

I follow an account on Facebook called Meanwhile in Canada and they posted this. As a proud Hufflepuff (I don’t care that Pottermore says I’m a Ravenclaw, the sorting hat did want to put Harry in Slytherin) and Canadian, this makes me doubly happy.

    • Woohoo for the Hufflepuffs!! I’m usually an equal split between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff but I identify more with the Hufflepuffs lol. It’s so hard to believe its been 20 years! Especially since I just got into HP within the last 7-8 haha

  1. I never was into Harry Potter. I believe we had to read one of the books for children’s literature course in college. It just never was my fancy, but sooo many others disagreed with me. What a success Rowling has become. Rags to riches, indeed. What a joy books are!

  2. I never read any of the books till after I got dragged to see the first movie, and that at least got me interested in the Potterverse. But I still held off reading the books till POA came out in the US, then I read all of them and started impatiently waiting for GOF, and haven’t looked back since! 😛 I’ve read the entire series 10 times, and have watched the movies many, many times (I couldn’t even begin to count)! I’ve seen every movie in the theatre, sometimes on opening night, and I think I even saw GOF more than once (probably in two different theatres, but as we have one in my hometown it’s possible I saw it there more than once, although I do know I watched it once out of town as well). I think we even managed a midnight showing here for one of them, probably DH Part 1 (or maybe it was Part 2), since I don’t think any of the others rated a midnight showing here in town

According to Pottermore, I’m a Ravenclaw, even though I’ve always identified more with Gryffindor (go figure), and my Ilvermorny House is Pukwudgie (I can never remember the name of it, the Ilvermorny Houses all have such odd-sounding names compared to Hogwarts, so I always have to go there and look it up). My Patronus is a Husky, and my wand is alder and unicorn hair, ten and three-quarter inches. 😀
