Song a Day: Day 1

I have been challenged!

Amazing blogger Sandra, over at What Sandra Thinks has challenged me to do this song a day thing for five days. And do it I shall!

So the rules:

Post a song a day for five consecutive days
Post the name of the song and video
Post what the lyrics mean to you (optional)
Nominate two different bloggers each day of the challenge

Sandra also gave me the rule of no Backstreet Boys, so I will strive to live up to that.

In order to keep the universe being mad at me and not at my dearest Sandra, I will not be nominating any other bloggers. 😉 I’ll take the hit Sandra!

Yesterday, while at work, 4th wanted to listen to some music while she did her homework, and the only option we had was the music library on my phone. It was a little bit of a struggle since a lot of my songs are not appropriate for her 7-year old ears, so my 5 days of music will be songs from that list that she could actually listen to.

The first song we listened to was At Last by the amazing Etta James. 4th had never heard it, but I think it’s important for her to realize that I am a much older person at heart than my age would suggest haha.  It was also a good choice since she didn’t know the words and couldn’t get distracted singing them while she was doing her homework.

  1. I saw Etta James at the house of blues in New Orleans years ago. She was fantastic! My family told me they played her music for me while I was waking up from a coma I was in. And I would try to sing along. I love this song!!

  2. I love this song! Why no Backstreet Boys? I used to love them when I was in high school! I am even thinking of checking them out when I am in Vegas this month lol
