It’s been a rough week, so I am falling back on my 365 writing prompts.
I should probably just take Saturday’s off, but then again, I usually have more energy than I have right now. And I have to do something while I’m waiting for my Chinese to arrive!
I’m a planner – I need to plan things out. Like even just on my days off, I need to plan things out. I make a list, and check it off, just to make sure that I have everything done. More often than not, if it’s not on the list, I won’t get it done. Friday’s is my chore day, even to just get through my chore day I need a list.
To make major changes in my life, it’s kind of the same thing. I need to plan it out in advance. Once the plan is in motion, I have no problem making the changes right away. In fact, I tend to do things as soon as I have settled on a plan. I don’t like to draw them out. Once I set aside time for it, it gets done (as long as it’s on the list that is! haha)
If I’m making a change to eliminate something from my life (a bad habit for instance), it really depends on what it is that I’m trying to eliminate how I go about it. I am currently trying to get over my dependency on Facebook so I made a plan (obviously). Each morning I will check it to see if I have any notifications. Then I look at the 3 trending news stories. Then I leave the site. It’s been totally working too! After a few days, my news feed will be so full of new stories I just feel overwhelmed in trying to get caught up that I just don’t even bother. But it was a great source of entertainment when I was staying up all night on Wednesday at work. Now I’m just meh over Facebook so that’s been nice! It wasn’t really cold turkey, it was a nice slow decline.
How about you? How do you make changes?
February 4 Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes You need to make a major change in your life. Do you make it all at once, cold turkey style, or incrementally?
