Take Two

It’s kind of dull here today.

It was raining most of the night and is suppose to rain more today. All the snow is now dirty or melted away. I had a pretty busy morning so I haven’t had time to take pictures for you. BUT if I did, the first thing you see when you leave my door is a sad little door mat which has been pushed about 3 feet to the side of the door by my landlord shoveling the snow. It has an even sadder little pile of snow on it.

Coming back inside the house, you would have seen my winter boots. Still pulled apart and drying. I had socks full of rice in them all night long and this morning, while the insides still felt cold (maybe it’s just the material?) I spent an hour out walking around in them and my socks are still dry so I think they are dry now.

I haven’t had much time to do things this morning for a few reasons: I slept in later than I normally do, and then spent around 20 minutes messaging a guy in Uganda before having to go grocery shopping. Now, don’t worry this guy didn’t say he was some prince needing money to save his country or anything. I signed up for this one website where you can offer services for freelance work – things like editing, proof-reading, writing blog posts, fixing WordPress problems, creating logos, designing websites, offering business advice, basically anything you are good at they will pay you for. So this guy was the first one interested in my editing post. I have been editing for friends for at least the last 10 years so I wanted to see if I could make a little bit of extra money on the side doing it online. I checked out his organization’s website and he’s already provided me with the document he needs me to work on. I just have to wait for him to accept the proposal and then transfer the money and I can start working. It’s a major document (45 pages and over 7000 words), and will probably take me all weekend so if I’m not posting, I apologize!

I guess this can also be labeled as a “take two” my first online job didn’t really work out all that great (the teaching thing) so hopefully this will be better! Fingers crossed anyways!

January 12 Take two Run outside. Take a picture of the first thing you see. Run inside. Take a picture of the second thing you see. Write about the connection between these two random objects, people, or scenes.

    • Thanks 🙂 I am really enjoying writing them! And thank you for the luck – he still hasn’t accepted the new proposal but I still might get started on it tomorrow a little. If I don’t hear back I will just stop working on it lol

  1. Hope the online editing works out, would like to try the same thing myself. What hard work snow can be, a lot of shovelling to get out of your house – it won’t last forever soon all this cold weather will be gone – I hope
