KA-POW!ย
Unfortunately, this post isn’t about kicking anyone… but let me tell you! I have a list ๐ Don’t worry, none of you are on it. This post is about another kind of list though, a bucket list.
Do you have a bucket list? I don’t. I guess the main attraction of them is that they are just goals all written down – what you want to accomplish or experience in life. If Iย had a bucket list, it would probably just a list of every city I want to travel to in the world, plus maybe skydiving and bungee jumping.
I’ve never taken the time to actually write a bucket list. I’ve never seen the appeal. But I do love lists. This morning I sat down and made a to-do list for today. I don’t have to be back at work until the 9th so I have lots of time to fill. I want to go to an art gallery or a museum or something this week, but I need to watch the finances. It’s raining today so I had already planned on staying home. Maybe, later today if I have time to start my knitting, I’llย watch “The Bucket List” on Netflix…
My to-do list was 20 items long, and I’ve already started/finished 5 of them. Some things will be easy to complete like dusting. I’ll get to that later. Some have a few parts: like charging/updating my iPad. It had to charge first before I can update. Then I have yoga on my list too, can’t do yoga until my iPad is charged and updated. Some things have a time issue attached to the task. I want to do my laundry, but right now is a peak time energy wise which means it costs more to use the large appliances. So I have to wait about an hour before I start that which puts me into the “moderate” time.
I’ve started making soup, finished my French lesson, starting my blogging stuff, and a few others. It’ll be a busy busy day. Of course, some things probably didn’t have to go on the list, but since I have a tendency to forget the mundane, they had to go on the list (shave legs? Yeah, I know TMI but I will forget!)
Do you have a bucket list? What’s on it?
January 3: Kick it Whatโs the 11th item on your bucket list?
I’ve never formally made a bucket list, and that’s probably a major reason why I haven’t completed one. ๐ I just may have to do one this year.

What will you put on it Rob? I can never think of anything “bucket list worthy” to put on my bucket list. Maybe visit the Ice Hotel, but that’s travel related and would just be my justification to go to Quebec haha

The first thing on my bucket list would be making a bucket list. ๐

Haha! I don’t think you are alone on that one ๐

I too live by lists. I literally would achieve nothing if I didn’t make a list. No bucket list either though. I don’t know why but I think it’s because I like lists where I can cross everything off. Presumably that’s not the ultimate goal for a bucket list…

I love to cross things off as well! It makes me feel like I have accomplished something. Although, I think a bucket list would fulfill that need as well. Just maybe not as quickly? I guess my generation is all about that “instant gratification”

I love lists! I haven’t created a bucket list yet, either. Maybe the secret is in the list-the actual making of one? Maybe after you make one, that’s when the good stuff starts happening?!

Ooo possibly! I also find that if I write something down, I’m more likely to do it or remember. But if I don’t, there’s like a 98% chance its not getting done haha

HAHA! That is SO true for me too! You should see the myriad sticky notes on my desk at work. If it’s not on one of my 50 sticky notes, it ain’t happening! ๐

Honestly I want to read the list of people you’d kick! That would make one hell of a prompt!

Haha! Well it would include quite a few mentioned in my early writings here on NLFF.

I’ll have to dig in then lol. Hopefully it isn’t me… ๐

Definitely not. The only one that I’ve met through blogging would be the woman who interviewed me for her site, and in less than 2 weeks had taken it down, unfollowed me (on wordpress and twitter), and stopped returning my emails/inquires about it.

I’ve always thought of bucket lists as (surprise) kind of a clichรฉ. And I’ve also always thought they were something for people with money. There are things I’d love to do in my lifetime but I’ll never be able to afford any of them so it would be enormously depressing to write those things in list form. Because then what? Read it and cry? No thanks! I don’t need any help to cry!

Oo such a great way to think about it. I watched the movie “A Bucket List” yesterday and they were flying all over the world! I was thinking the exact same thing to myself “um yeah sure I’d LOVE to do all that, but where’s my sugar daddy to pay for it?” We can’t all meet Jack Nicholson playing a gazillionare in a hospital room and just explore the world with him…

The sad thing is… I have a little bit of a list in my head and it already makes me cry if I think about it too much… I know I’ll never have or see or do those things and sometimes, it kind of gives me the “what’s the point” feeling…

Yeah I have a little list too, but mostly it’s all about travel. My current situation makes it basically impossible to do anything on the list. But it gives me something to work towards.

Even if I could save up…the money wouldn’t be for anything on my list… it’d be for practical things… and for the kids…
