I guess it’s that time of year again where we all have to re-evaluate our lives isn’t it?
I have never really been one to enjoy New Years. I honestly don’t really see it as much of a thing to celebrate, but that’s just my own personality. I never have plans, well never have anyย exciting plans hehe. Every year, I order pizza (mom is allergic to cheese so we never get to actually order pizza from a shop), eat junk and watch movies. Then, almost always, I am in bed before 11. Staying up to ring in the new year has lost all appeal to me. But I love my little ritual.
As for resolutions, I tend to skip out on those as well. I’m not really a fan of the normal resolutions and tend to make the same one each year: to be a better, happier person than I was last year.
This could be viewed on many different levels, such as healthier, more active, less negative, more productive, treating yourself better, treating others better, be kinder, have more patience, etc. So much can be changed to make you a better person.
But I do want to make a few resolutions for my blog. Last year the only resolution I made for my blog was to reach 100 followers. On January 1st, 2016 I had 46 followers and now I have entered into the 300’s! It’s amazing!
This year, however, I want to be a little bit more ambitious with my blog resolutions:
- Complete the 365 Days of Writing challenge I have set for myself (starting January 1st.)
- Compete in the A-Z writing challenge (anyone have any good topics for it? Let me know!)
- Interact more with fellow bloggers – I find that since I get all posts emailed to me, I just read them and move on. I want to try to like or comment more than I have been lately.
- Use tags more effectively – I never tag my posts, but I want to start
- Experience new bloggers – Just like I have gotten lazy with interacting with the bloggers I already follow, I have really dropped the ball on seeking out new blogs. If you know of a blog you’d think I would enjoy, lemme know!
Do you have any exciting New Years Eve plans? Or will you be in bed by 10:30 like me? Hehe! Any resolutions for the new year you’d like to share?
I hope, however, you plan to spend Saturday night, celebrating or not, that you have a safe and enjoyable evening. Also, if you plan on drinking, don’t drive. (yes you get a PSA with this post) Take a cab, public transit, have a designated driver. Most public transit systems have a free ride program on New Year’s Eve (some starting as early as 6 pm and going until the end of service). Keep safe my friends!
I used to hang out with friends on New Year’s Eve back when I had friends. Like in high school. ๐ I don’t usually go anywhere now. I am always awake but not necessarily watching the ball drop. In fact, we really don’t do anything special at all. When John and I first got married, we’d have a drink at midnight… which is funny because neither of us drink much of anything ever. Anyway, we don’t even do that anymore. Last year, he probably fell asleep before midnight… I don’t even remember.
Resolutions? Ack… just throw that into the clichรฉ pile… pile of things that make me roll my eyes. Resolutions are crap. Like you said, people make the same ones all the time and rarely get very far with keeping them. One should decide to make a change when they feel ready to make that change and will more likely stick with it. I don’t think one can force themselves to do something they’re not ready for because of the calendar.
Blog resolutions, though… well, those are, like, goals. Those make sense to me. Although I have none. I sort of had goals as far as followers and stuff like that… but I never seem to find the time to do whatever I’m supposed to do to bring more followers… and I am already WAY beyond any expectations I ever had! I started mid-Sept 2015… so about 15 months… I expected maybe I’d get a few dozen followers… Today I have 963 WP… 1085 total with the twitter numbers. Do people really care with I think??? Baffling!
I wanted to come up with another weekly thing to do… maybe a 52-week thing to do for the year… but I only have about a day and a half to come up with something… and I think I’ll do the A to Z again… no idea for a theme, though!
Okay… that’s a long comment. Shutting up now. ๐

Hehe yeah in university i would go out with friends each year but i never really enjoyed it. It was boring and a waste of money lol.
Down with all resolutions!! I could try to promise to eat better and exercise but who am I kidding? I literally just ordered a panzerotti and am waiting to go and pick it up haha!
I love your blog and am not surprised that so many people love it! There are lots of 52 week challenges online for blogs or just other random challenges that I’m sure could be adapted to your blog. Now if only we could find A-Z topics haha. Why is it so hard?!

I think the only thing resolutions accomplish is guilt! I already have enough of that, thankyouverymuch!
I need to do some searches for 52-week things. A-Z… I could do something obnoxious… like… things I hate. Hahaha! Hm. Hot guys! I bet I could do that. ๐

Meanie! I should keep my mouth shut! ๐ Haha! I’m sure they would be different men… in many cases, anyway. I’ve got a few for A already… *sigh*

I’m just teasing… ๐ I’d like to come up with something more, too. Last year, my theme was supposed to be “small”… but then I was writing so much poetry that it was all poetry. Small poems, I guess…
I’d love to think of something that could be interpreted a few different ways so I have a little variety in what I post.

Yeah. I found that a lot of the blogs i followed for the challenge did drugs, or mental health issures or folklore characters. I had thought of doing Ralph Feinnes movies/characters (of course I would!) But it wont work haha

Yeah, New Year’s Day is just a regular day for me hehe. And thank you! I hope I can keep up the resolutions. It would be awesome. I’m lucky to not have too much to fill my time in the mornings so I have lots of time to blog and work on it. I’m not sure how much longer that will continue but we shall see ๐ I hope you have a great year too Joana! Can’t wait to see where your blog takes you this year!

I too never do anything exciting. But I love your blog resolutions. I always set goals instead resolutions, cause then if I don’t reach it I can roll it into the next year. But I look forward to reading what’s in store.

I think of what I set as goals too, not so much as resolutions ๐ Thanks for stopping by and commenting! ๐

I was in bed too, but it gave me inspiration for my recent blog posts so that’s something. Good luck with your goals!
