Have you ever had one of those days where you were exhausted all day? No matter how cold you made your office, or how much coffee you drink or movement you forced your body to do, you were still just barely keeping your eye lids open?
And then it was finally time for bed. A reasonable hour where you knew you would be able to sleep all the way through until morning. You get ready and lay in bed, your body relaxing and almost becoming one with the mattress under you (even if it was the crappiest “mattress” you have every experienced). Your muscles were letting go, even your eyes were expressing their gratitude for finally being closed.
And then….it happened.
2 am and you are still awake.
First you were too hot, then too cold. Can’t get comfortable.
Willing yourself to fall asleep, counting how much time you would have left to sleep if you were to finally drift off right now.
Just when you are starting to hate yourself and are angered at STILL being awake, you drift off. Waking up, thinking it must be at least 9 or 10 in the morning. Wondering how you are going to swing such a late start to the day without feeling like your day will be a disaster.
And you look at the clock: 7:35am…..
