Well the struggle has finally come to an end!
I started doing pilates about 4 months ago. At first I hurt every. single. time. Now it’s getting a little better. My muscles still hurt after working them, but it’s a good hurt not a “omg I can’t walk” hurt.
At first I didn’t like any of the routines because I was new at them and my body was killing me. Then I started to like them. I had a nice set of 3 days that I really liked, and 2 that I didn’t.
I loved the gym ball, hoop resistor and weight days, and hated the stepper box and the band. The band wasn’t so bad it’s just like I felt like a flailing crazy person with it. It was awkward and I got no direction with it. The stepper box was pure torture!
Then things started to shift, the weights made their way into the “I don’t like this” pile. Then the resistor hoop. I was left with 1 class out of 5 that I actually enjoyed. 12 days ago, during the last gym ball routine, I crushed it! But I’m not going to pay for a whole month of classes, 3 times a week, when I only enjoy 1 class out of 5. It’s not worth it to me. Even if a whole month is less than 2 classes in Canada.
I always have a clear idea about what I want in life: if it’s enjoyable, then keep doing it! And I’ve gotten to a point where it’s just not enjoyable anymore. So I’m going to take at least a month off, and pick up yoga again in my apartment. It will be harder to push myself to do it consistently but I really enjoy yoga.
The only problem now is having the disapproval of the instructor….
