Life Lately #13

Happy Monday!!

Why haven’t I just been putting up pictures of hippos every week? Nothing makes me happier than a cute hippo picture!

Lately, I’ve been thinking…about this week! Friday is the one year anniversary of NLFF so this week will be filled with posts surrounding that! If I can get them organized into a few smaller posts. I started preparing for this a few months ago when I was determined to reach a full year of blogging!

Lately, I’ve been feeling…pain – lots and lots of pain! My tooth actually woke me up in the middle of the night on Saturday. I only have the pain meds until tomorrow morning, but I found out Saturday night that ibuprofen works too. I don’t think I have ever been so excited for the final stages of this root canal. I’ve never had one before but now I am excited for it to be over. Guess that’s better than freaking out over how much it could potentially hurt right?

Lately, I’ve been wanting…lots of fresh nectarines!! For some reason, Korean’s seem to eat plums and nectarines and the like when they are still hard? But now is the perfect time in the summer to get fabulous, soft, ripe, nectarines (could I possible say nectarines one more time?!) and I am loving it! Yum yum yum yum yum eating a bowl of sliced nectarines right now!

Lately, I’ve been doing…a lot of soul searching. In just 3 months and SEVEN DAYS (praise Jesus!) I will be returning to Canada. When I get there, one of the first things I want to do (after hugs from my parents and my brother and my dog while he groans cos he hates it when I pick him up and give him hugs) is to find a church. I’ve honestly felt really lost spiritually these last few years, and it’s taken a lot to admit that to myself. Well I guess I’ve admitted it a few times to myself but never really out loud. Does this count as out loud? But now I want/need to do something about it. My parent’s church isn’t exactly for me, I enjoy my brother’s church but if I’m not living in Ottawa for work then it’s not exactly an option.

Lately, I’ve been hoping…that my recruiter will find me an amazing job back in Canada. It’s still pretty far out so jobs for December haven’t been posted yet but I am looking on my own as well so hopefully between me and the professionals we’ll come up with a good situation for me. Ideally I’d love to wait until January to start a job. That way I can have a nice month rest at home enjoying my family and the holiday season with them.

Weeks until my contract is over: 14
