Tell someone you’re proud of just how proud you are.
The news came about a week ago – friends of mine had been in a car crash. They are 20/21, in a relationship and just moved in together, in their last term of college together (they are both going to be cops, they are seriously adorable!), and now life is put on hold for her. Their car was totaled, but thankfully no life threatening injuries for either of them. He walked away with only minor injuries but her, omg she will have a rough couple of months ahead of her: broken leg, broken arm, shattered pelvis, small skin graft on her face where the glass from the window did damage. And on top of all that, a major skin graft on her arm. She posted pictures yesterday on facebook of her arm: palm side up, and from elbow to wrist there was no skin left pretty much, the only thing you can see is muscle and bone. A week later and it looks amazing! About 50% more coverage than a week ago.
The most amazing thing about her is her attitude – her posts on facebook are all positive and upbeat. She says that yes she is struggling but he is amazing and helping every step of the way, and that shes thankful for all the help and support, happy to be at home and recovering well.
I’m not sure if I would be able to have the same outlook on things if that had happened to me. I am so proud of her for how she is handling herself in such a difficult situation. She is such an inspiration.
