Slowly Falling Asleep

Poetry topic for today: Sleep.

I always get lost in your eyes.
The blue is reflecting the skies.
Calmness washes over me
As I slowly count down from three…
Two….one.

Wrapped up in your arms,
No longer blinded by your charms.
Warm contentment now resides,
Slowly as your hands slides,
Unto my hip.

Blankets pulled in close,
As we both begin to doze.
Our breath in sync,
As we slowly reach the brink,
Of consciousness.

Soft images in dreams,
Our faces awash in moonbeams.
Unknown to the world,
Our bodies are slightly curled,
In sleep.
